This past 07/11/2024 several new forms were activated in the Virtual Procedures Office (OVT) of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Among these forms, there is the application form for the MOD06a procedure, i.e.: modification of residence for exceptional circumstances with work authorization to residence and work as an employee. Soon, new application forms will be activated in the OVT. While these forms are not active in the OVT, you must continue to use the detailed forms that are available on the website of the Secretariat of Labor of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which can be accessed by clicking on the following link: https://treball.gencat.cat/ca/ambits/estrangeria/cerca_tramits/tramits/

However , as of 12/16/2024 (inclusive), the forms available on the Secretary of Labor's website will not allow the generation of the fee payment letter for the processing of the work authorization. The reason for this change is the obsolescence of the application that, up to the present time, has been used to settle the aforementioned fees. This application will soon cease to be operative.

As long as the forms available on the Secretary of Labor's website are not active in the OVT, interested persons may complete and sign the corresponding application detail form and submit it through any of the usual registries (for example, through the generic request with electronic signature), without paying the fee for the processing of the work authorization. The detail form will contain a notice to warn of this circumstance.

Once the competent body has registered the application in the Common Application for Aliens (ACEX), a request will be issued for payment of the fee for processing the work authorization. This fee may be paid through the process of generating the letter of payment of the fee for processing the work authorization for foreigners ( see information note 1/2024).

Regarding the activation of the new forms in the OVT, this process is expected to be carried out during the first months of 2025. The activation of the new forms will be carried out progressively and taking into account the volume of files in each procedure (i.e. from more to less volume of requests).
